Recycling Program
Wilkin County Recycling Program consists of 10 drop-off recycling bins located in each of the 8 communities in Wilkin County. Newsprint, Plastic Bottles, Tin and Aluminum Cans, and Glass Containers can be recycled in these containers.
Wilkin County also operates a Recycling Facility for the collection and processing of recycling materials.
Materials that can be recycled at the facility include; Newsprint, Plastic Bottles, Tin and Aluminium Cans, Glass Containers, Cardboard, Telephone Books, Magazines, Office Paper, Tires, Used Oil and Oil Filters, Vehicle Batteries, Fluorescent Bulbs and Appliances

Tuesday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Thursday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
These are products that when disposed of improperly (- in the trash, down the drain, or on the ground -) can cause ground and water pollution and contamination of lakes and rivers.
Products are considered hazardous when they ar:
- Flammable/ignitable
- Toxic
- Corrosive
- Reactive
Some household wastes hazardous products will not become wastes if they are properly used and stored -- such as paints or cleaners. Other types of household hazardous products will become wastes after use no matter how they are used or stored -- such as motor oil and antifreeze.
Examples of HHW
Latex and oil based paints, Stain, varnish, lacquer, paint thinners, furniture stripper, aerosols, adhesives, acids and bases (Drain Cleaners), automotive products, home and garden pesticides, hobby supplies, rechargeable batteries, button batteries, solvents, and wood preservatives
